Rising Damp
Rising damp occurs when moisture from the soil is absorbed by the structure. The first signs of rising damp are usually staining of the brickwork appearing like a tide mark or bubbling & peeling of the painted render or brickwork close to ground level.
Left untreated, rising damp can devastate your property and impact upon the structural integrity of your walls, timber, plaster, paint and more. Over time, rising damp will travel from the lower sections of your walls up to higher areas, leaving a clearly visible water mark. The water enters through cracks in your brickwork, and it can cause a variety of issues that affect both the structural integrity and appearance of your property, as well as the health of those who live or work there. Common issues associated with rising damp include rotting wood, mould growth and peeling, cracking and bubbling of painted render or brickwork. Extract Air can provide a tailor-made solution involving the use of sub floor ventilation that will prevent, slow or stop the spread of rising damp by removing moisture, eliminating odours and stopping the growth of mould.
